Product Introduction

With the further enhancement of transmission capacity, particularly the application of flexible DC transmission in offshore wind power integration, traditional IGBT-based converter valve technology faces limitations in large-scale engineering applications due to IGBT "bottleneck"  issues "in its large volume and weight, high costs, and the critical component. The “6.5kV domestically produced split-drive IGCT converter valve component for flexible DC" jointly developed by TBEA Xi'an Electric Technology and Tsinghua University has completely solved the challenge of IGCT commercialization. It has passed authoritative appraisal, with product performance, meeting engineering application conditions. With the ±500kV/2000MW transmission system as an example, the number of power modules is reduced by 30%, the volume of the valve hall is reduced by 25%; the area is reduced by about 25%; the weight of the converter valve is reduced by 15%; and the total platform cost is reduced by 20%.
